I have been using and officially endorsing the EGR ligature since April of 2014 and am excited to receive their K-26 Prestige Series Gold Plated models for both of my classical set ups for alto saxophone and Bb clarinet. The combination of mouthpiece, the EGR ligature and reed that I use on both instruments in this context is truly great in terms of response and tone.
I use the EGR ligature for classical situations because it allows the greatest response for me. I use the ligature with a Selmer S-80 C** mouthpiece on alto saxophone, and with a Vandoren M13 lyre mouthpiece on clarinet.
However, I have students who play the EGR ligature for both classical and jazz performance situations and say they think it is great in either musical context.
Check these fine ligatures out at EGR Store online.
