VERSION 3 OF MIDI MOCK UP (prior to arranging and orchestration) of the new Black House composition titled “OSIRIS” by Chris Burnett (BMI). Has a new school, jazzy funk feel over a very interesting progression. Check it out. Use earbuds or headphones.

ABOUT THE WORK: “Osiris” is a 32-bar piece. What you hear is essentially the “head”. There will be a solo section for two reed players – specifically, Russell Thorpe on bass clarinet (the bass clarinet double is for improvisation only, he starts and ends the composed and arranged sections on baritone sax though), as well as a soprano sax solo for Allie Burik. I would like to feature Hunter Long’s lap top programming soloing during the head if possible/practical. If not, I will write something in those spaces or even write melody solo for Hunter to play on tenor.
P.S. – I am happy to have enough balance in my life again to include more music in 2013. So, stay tuned. I especially like this association with Black House Collective because it is more artistic and avant garde where new music is concerned. Anyway, this attached version is closer to what is going to be happening during the “head” … there is more definition among the “mix” of the lines using headphones.
Happy New Year! Cb (January 1, 2013)
